“Train up a child in the way he should go, and
when he is old he will not turn from it.”
Proverbs 22:6
Parent Responsibility:
1. Pray earnestly for the Board, Administration,
faculty, staff and families.
2. Support WWCA’s staff and administration.
3. Volunteer to work in the office, classroom or on committee assignments.
4. Recruit new students and families.
5. Participate fully in planned school meetings and P.T.F. functions.
6. Resolve all conflict in accordance to Matthew 18.
Responsibility &
Authority:
God has given parents authority over their children
and responsibility for their discipline. Parents have entrusted authority
to administrators and teachers during the school day and during school
activities. It is the student’s responsibility before God to
demonstrate obedience and respect to parents, teachers, administrators,
and others in whom God has vested authority.
If your child relays an event that has upset him/her or you, you should
contact the teacher first to get his/her perspective of the event
and discuss your concerns with the teacher.
Resolve any matters of conflicts or dissatisfaction with the teacher
or other employee of the school rather than criticizing or discussing
the matter with others who are not involved (apply the Matthew 18
principle).
1. Go directly to the person involved and discuss
the matter with the individual. (Do not bring grievance to others)
2. If the matter is not resolved in discussion with
the other person, take the matter to the next higher authority.
3. If the matter cannot be resolved at other levels,
a hearing before a board member may be requested.
Parent Teacher Fellowship:
Every parent, teacher, and staff member with a child
enrolled in WWCA is automatically a member of the Parent Teacher Fellowship
(P.T.F.). There are no dues, fees, or monetary assessments associated
with membership. A major objective of the P.T.F. is to promote the
best spiritual and educational atmosphere for our young people at
WWCA. It encourages and seeks to develop cooperation among parents,
teachers, and students. Its purpose is to honor God and strives to
promote unity through projects and activities that will enhance the
learning environment of WWCA. The P.T.F. endeavors to uplift and glorify
the Lord Jesus Christ.
Parent Teacher Conferences:
Conferences between parents and teachers are encouraged. These offer
an excellent way to exchange information from each other about the
progress the child may or may not be having.
