The following suggestions are given for your student study time at
home:
1. Schedule a regular study time in a quiet area.
2. Have all materials needed to do all the work without distraction.
3. Pray for God’s help.
4. DO YOUR OWN WORK. Only ask for help if you have tried and still
can’t do the work.
Academic Aids:
The following suggestions are made to parents:
1. Take your child to the library often.
2. Select books to read to him/her at first; when he/she acquires
reading skills, help him/her select books which he/she can read themselves.
3. Listen to him/her read when they bring home a book or discuss the
contents of the book when they have read.
4. Plan conferences with teachers as they are needed.
5. Help your child develop good research patterns.
6. DO NOT HELP YOUR CHILD UNLESS IT IS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY.
7. Pray with your child about their work.
8. Check homework folder every evening.
9. Read the weekly grade level sheets and weekly bulletin.
Homework:
At WWCA all effort will be made to keep homework a minimum. Homework
is given to develop responsibility and self-learning. It provides
the opportunity to be proactive and apply concepts learned in the
classroom. The amount of homework varies at each grade level. There
will be no homework assignments on Wednesdays.
Cell Phone/Pager Use
Cell phones and pagers are not permitted in the school buildings and
will be confiscated if they are seen. Phones and pagers will be returned
at the end of the school day. For emergencies, the students may use
the phone in the office.
Internet Policy
Students are to use the Internet only as directed by the classroom
teacher. Student’s are not to “surf” the Internet
at school for entertainment; it is to only be used for academic purposes
only.
